Welcome to the Exmouth Masterplan website

Exmouth Masterplan is an exciting and important project for the town that is specifically intended to bring forward significant improvements in the town centre and seafront. The District Council and Devon County Council have commissioned local company, LDA Design, to draw together a vision for Exmouth to directly inform the town centre and seafront-focused masterplan and the preparation of comprehensive proposals and a delivery plan to bring about investment in two key sites: the Royal Avenue/estuary side area and the London Inn area.

Exmouth’s future has been discussed at length over many years and proposals have come and gone. It is important that this piece of work is not seen as ‘yet another plan’. Instead it is drawing on previous consultations and the views currently expressed by the local community to form a consensus about how best to attract investment to deliver a more viable future for the town. It is targeted at making things happen. The project is described in more detail in ‘Exmouth Masterplan.’

The purpose of this website is to keep you informed as the Masterplan for Exmouth town centre and seafront progresses, and to give you the opportunity to tell us what you think – your thoughts, ideas and aspirations.

This website will evolve and be updated as the project moves forward over the coming weeks so please do keep visiting us and giving us your views.

Latest update

Preparation of the draft Exmouth Masterplan and Development Briefs are well underway and draft proposals are nearing completion. The ‘Vision for Exmouth’ document is now on the website for you to view and comment on. This sets out the vision, aims and objectives for the town that have emerged through the community workshops, public engagement and the comments posted on this website. To view and comment on the ‘Vision for Exmouth’ document please click here.

We have now also been commissioned to include and integrate the Seafront into the Masterplan. We are currently preparing the framework for the seafront, identifying key opportunity sites for change and setting out general principles to guide change.

A Public Exhibition is being planned for October to show you the emerging proposals and to get your comments.
